Having ventured out to Afghanistan shortly after leaving school at the age of 19 back in the early 1980s, Jason Elliot found himself joining the Afghani resistance in an assault against a Russian position in Kabul.

In his first book, “An Unexpected Light”, Elliot describes his journey back to Afghanistan almost ten years after.

He now lives in London.
